BTW, we’ve mentioned recently that 20th Century Studios and Disney have set Dan Trachtenberg’s Predator: Badlands (2025) for Blu-ray, DVD, 4K Ultra HD, and 4K Steelbook release on 2/17. Rest assured, I’m still pushing the powers that be for a 4K and Blu-ray release of the animated Predator: Killer of Killers (2025) as well.
Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set Richard Pryor: Here and Now (1983) for 4K Ultra HD release on 2/24.
For TV fans, I’ve learned that Sony is also working to release Apple TV’s For All Mankind: Season Two on Blu-ray in the coming weeks, so watch for an announcement on that soon.
And Sony is obviously getting ready to release Nia DaCosta’s 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) in the coming months as well—the street date is TBA.
Kino Lorber Studio Classics has just set Andrei Konchalovsky’s Runaway Train (1985) for 4K Ultra HD release on 3/31. Also coming on 3/24 are their 4K UHD releases of Richard Attenborough’s A Bridge too Far (1977) and Ted Kotcheff’s Uncommon Valor (1983).
And on 3/17, look for Franc Roddam’s K2 (1991) on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, and Gilles Granger’s Maigret Sees Red (1963) on Blu-ray.
Imprint and Via Vision have just announced their latest wave of Imprint Asia titles due for release in March, which will include John Woo’s A Better Tomorrow Trilogy (1986-1989) on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, as well as Zhang Yimou’s Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles (2005) and Lee Jeong-hyang’s The Way Home (2002) on Blu-ray. The street date for all three is 3/25.
Well Go USA has set John C. Waller’s Lone Samurai (2025) for 4K Ultra HD release on 3/17.
Universal will release Kat Corio’s Marry Me (2022) in 4K Ultra HD on 1/27.
Universal has also set the animated Scott Pilgrim Takes Off: The Complete Limited Series for Blu-ray release on 3/24.
Here’s something I LOVE: Deaf Crocodile has getting ready to release a Soviet-era cinema deep cut: Vladimir Motyl’s White Sun of the Desert (1970) on Blu-ray on 3/24! What makes this film interesting is its unique blend of action, comedy, music, and drama, as well as the fact that—by tradition going all the way back to the Soyuz 12 mission in 1973—Russian cosmonauts watch this film the night before launching into space.
And we’ve saved an exciting bit of release news for last today: Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment and HBO have set It: Welcome to Derry – The Complete First Season for Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD Steelbook release on 3/5.
Back soon with more. Stay tuned!
