In release news today, it’s finally official: Warner Bros. Discover Home Entertainment has just sent out their press release announcing William Wyler’s Ben-Hur (1959) and Alan J. Pakula’s All the President’s Men (1976) for 4K Ultra and 4K Steelbook release on 2/17! Both films will include Dolby Vision HDR. Ben-Hur is an 8K restoration of the original 65mm camera negative and will have Dolby Vision HDR. It will also include Dolby Atmos audio, while both titles will include DTS-HD MA tracks representing the original theatrical audio. (Ben-Hur will have its original theatrical audio in 5.0, representing the original 6-track stereo experience). [Read on here...]

In terms of special features, Ben-Hur will include the audio commentary with T. Gene Hatcher and Charlton Heston, as well as a music-only track, 2 new features (Ben-Hur: Anatomy of an Epic and The Cinematography of Scale), and legacy extras. The film is also split over a pair of 4K UHD discs, with an additional Blu-ray that contains most of the special features.

All the Presidents Men will include 2 new features as well (All the President’s Men: The Film and its Influence and Woodward and Bernstein: A Journalism Masterclass), along with the legacy features.

Meanwhile, Kino Lorber Studio Classics has just set John Binder’s UFOria (1985) for 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release on 3/10. They’re also releasing Brian Levant’s Beethoven (1992) on Blu-ray that same day. And they’re expecting to release Danny DeVito’s Throw Momma from the Train (1987) on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on 3/31.

Radiance Films has revealed more great Blu-ray titles for release in the UK and/or US in April, including Time to Play: Films by Jacques Rozier—featuring Adieu Philippine (1962), Near Orouët (1971), The Castaways of Turtle Island (1976), Maine-Ocean Express (1986), and Fifi Martingale (2001), as well as several short films—on 4/20, along with Johnnie To’s Romancing in Thin Air (2012), Pedro Almodóvar’s Matador (1986), Damiano Damiani’s Confessions of a Police Captain (1971), and—for Transmission— Ate De Jong’s Highway to Hell (1990).

Shout! Studios has set The Swordsman Trilogy (1990-1993) for 4K UHD/Blu-ray release on 3/3, followed by Taylor Hackford’s The Devil’s Advocate (1997) on 4K Ultra HD on 3/10, the Coen Brothers’ Hail, Caesar! (2016) in 4K UHD on 3/24, and Wolfgang Peterson’s Outbreak (1995) in 4K UHD on 3/31.

Note that for The Swordsman Trilogy, only the first film—Swordsman (1990)—is included in 4K and Blu-ray; the rest are Blu-ray only.

Also, don’t forget that David Ayer’s End of Watch (2012) arrives in 4K Ultra HD Steelbook from Shout! on 1/20.

And Shout! is also releasing Mamoru Hosoda’s animated The Boy and the Beast (2015) on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Steelbook on 3/17 for GKids. The 4K SKU will be an Amazon exclusive.

Finally today, our friends at Imprint have finally announced their long-awaited 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray Limited Steelbook Library Collection of Halloween I-V (1978-1989) for release on 5/20. The set includes multiple cuts and tons of special features, with authoring and encoding from Fidelity in Motion. It’s limited to only 2,000 copies.

That’s all for now! Stay tuned…
