Radiance Films in the UK has set its Nagisa Oshima Blu-ray box set, Radical Japan: Cinema and State, for release on November 17th—which includes The Catch (1961), Death by Hanging (1968), Diary of a Shinjuku Thief (1969), Boy (1969), The Man Who Left His Will on Film (1970), The Ceremony (1971), and Dear Summer Sister (1972)—along with Nikos Koundouros’ The Ogre of Athens (1956),the Wicked Games: Three Films by Robert Hossein Blu-ray set—which includes The Wicked Go to Hell (1955), Nude in a White Car (1958), and The Taste of Violence (1961)—and Robert Butler and Sidney J. Furie’s The Night of the Juggler (1980).
Warner Bros. and HBO will release The Gilded Age: The Complete Third Season on DVD only on 10/21. The season is already available Digitally.
Speaking of Warner Bros., the studio is now taking pre-orders on the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release of Zach Cregger’s Weapons (2025) on some retail outlets (including Amazon).
And I have officially confirmed that WBDHE will be offering fixed 4K replacement discs for their 2023 Superman 5-Film Collection in 4K Ultra HD. I recommend sending a photo of your existing set as proof of purchase.
Meanwhile, Paramount’s Smurfs (2025) will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/28, with the Digital release available tomorrow.
Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set Mark L. Lester’s The Ex (1996) and Joseph Losey’s King and Country (1964) for Blu-ray release on 10/21. They’ve also revealed that the Dan Curtis’ Gothic Tales (1973-74) box set is coming to Blu-ray in November, including The Pictures of Dorian Gray (1973) and The Turn of the Screw (1974). And they’ve also announced that J. Lee Thompson’s Charles Bronson actioner 10 to Midnight (1983) is coming to 4K Ultra HD in 2026 from Kino Cult.
Shudder is releasing The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs: Mayhem/Suitable Flesh on Blu-ray on 10/14.
Deaf Crocodile will release the Treasures of Soviet Animation: Volume Two Blu-ray on 10/14, which includes The Snow Queen (1957), The Scarlet Flower (1952), and The Key (1961). The Volume One set is already available and includes The Mystery of the Third Planet (1981), The Pass (1988), and The Return (1980).
And 88 Films will release Sammo Hung’s Heart of Dragon (1985) on 4K Ultra HD on 10/10, another Jackie Chan action classic.
