Today’s update at The Digital Bits is a relatively brief one, as I have family visiting here from North Dakota this week. But we do have some new disc reviews, as always, as well as some interesting release announcements and rumors.

First up, those reviews...

Dennis has offered his take on Robert Siodmak’s Time Out of Mind (1947) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

Stephen has reviewed Rene Daalder’s Massacre at Central High (1976) on Blu-ray and Steelbook Blu-ray from Synapse Films.

And Tim has taken a look at Rod Serling’s Night Gallery: Season One (1969-1971) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

FYI, Tim is working on a review of Season Two of the series as well, so watch for that to be posted very soon. [Read on here...]

In announcement news today, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Adult Swim have just set the animated Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm for release on Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, and Digital on 11/8 (SRP $29.99 and $39.99 for the discs). Extras will include deleted scenes, audio commentary, a music video, an alternate cut of the film, and a behind-the-scenes featurette. You can see the cover artwork above left and also below.

Speaking of Warner Bros, sources are telling us that Warner and DC are going to be releasing the animated Harley Quinn: The Complete First Season on 4K Ultra HD as well on 9/13. Watch for that announcement soon.

And look for Superman & Lois: The Complete Second Season to arrive on Blu-ray and DVD from WB on 9/27.

Meanwhile, we have updated street dates for a pair of those recently announced Kino Lorber Studio Classics 4K titles... look for In Bruges to street on 9/27, with Tropic Thunder now set to follow on 10/18 (delayed from its original 9/13 date).

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has also revealed that they’re going to be releasing Marathon Man (1976) on 4K Ultra HD in the coming months. The title is currently listed as “coming soon.”

In other news, retailers are telling us to expect Universal’s Nope to street on Blu-ray and 4K on 10/18, with Sony’s Bullet Train set to arrive between mid-October and 11/1 (10/25 seems to be the current consensus). Our latest intel also has Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick streeting on Blu-ray and 4K UHD on 11/1, thanks to its continued box office success, but that’s subject to change.

Paramount has also set the animated Paws of Fury: The Revenge of Hank for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/11.

BBC Home Entertainment has set Doctor Who: Colin Baker – The Complete Season One for Blu-ray release on 10/18.

And MVD Entertainment has revealed its next MVD Rewind Collection title for BD release on 10/11... Jack Frost 2: The Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman.

Finally today, there appears to be something strange happening with Universal’s still-TBA Blu-ray and 4K release of Jurassic World: Dominion. Our original intel from retailers was that the title was expected to street on 8/16, but it still hasn’t been announced. Nevertheless, some Bits readers in Canada who pre-ordered it in 4K Ultra HD from Amazon.ca are actually receiving the title already. We don’t know if the studio has decided to delay the street date, or if there’s some kind of confusion in the distribution stream, or what’s going on. Hopefully, the studio will make the title and street date official soon with an actual announcement. Just be aware that it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility that the title could just suddenly start shipping next week if nothing changes between now and then.

All right, here’s a look at the 4K cover artwork for Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm (from Warner Bros.), as well as Indecent Proposal and The Score (from Kino Lorber Studio Classics), all of which are now available for pre-order on Amazon.

And be advised that we’ve posted our latest Cover Art section update as well with tons more Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD cover artwork and Amazon.com pre-order links. Anytime you order literally anything from Amazon after clicking to them from one of our links (like this one) you’re helping to support our work here at The Bits and we really do appreciate it!

Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm (4K Ultra HD) Indecent Proposal (4K Ultra HD) The Score (4K Ultra HD)
