Ash vs Evil Dead on BD in August, plus The Knick, Blindspot, I Saw the Light, Fritz Lang’s Spiders & more

We’ve got a pair of new reviews for you to start off the week: Our own Tim Salmons has turned in his thoughts on Universal’s Krampus and Jim Hemphill has taken a look at Shout! Factory’s Bad Influence, both of them on regular Blu-ray. Tim’s review also kicks off a new edition of Pick-Ups, in which he’ll have a new review for you each day this week. Do give them all a look.

Starz has finally set Ash vs Evil Dead: The Complete First Season for Blu-ray and DVD release on 8/23. We expect official details soon, but pre-orders are now live on Amazon. Just click here or on the cover artwork below.

Warner Home Video has officially set Blindspot: The Complete First Season for Blu-ray and DVD release on 8/2. Again, you can see the cover artwork below.

Meanwhile, Sony will release I Saw the Light: The Story of Hank Williams on Blu-ray, DVD and digital on 7/5, followed by Miracles from Heaven on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/12 (with a digital release on 6/21).

The BBC has set Doctor Who: The Complete Fourth Series for Blu-ray and DVD release next year, on 3/14/17. Talk about planning ahead.

HBO and Cinemax will release The Knick: The Complete Second Season on both formats on 8/2.

Full Moon Features has set Trancers 3: Deth Lives! for Blu-ray pre-order on Amazon with a street date of 9/13.

FUNimation has set the anime Eureka Seven: The Complete Series for Blu-ray release on 9/30.

Section 23 has just set Return of Godzilla for Blu-ray and DVD release on 9/13.

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed the Blu-ray and DVD release of Fritz Lang’s The Spiders (1919-1920) on 8/23. See the cover artwork below. Also coming soon to Blu-ray from Kino are The Battle of the Sexes (1960), Western Union (1941), I Wake Up Screaming (1941), and The Beautiful Blonde From Bashful Bend (1949).

Image Entertainment is releasing Nina, starring Zoe Saldana, David Oyelowo, and Mike Epps, on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/6.

And finally, Lionsgate has set I Am Wrath, starring John Travolta, for Blu-ray and DVD release on 7/26, followed by The Trust, starring Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood, on both formats on 8/2.
