We’re just chiming in here quickly again today with a few more pieces of industry news…

The first is physical media related: Paramount Home Entertainment has just listed Gregory Goblit’s Primal Fear (1996) as a new 4K Ultra HD Paramount Presents release on 3/26.

Paramount has also listed David S. Ward’s Major League (1989) for release in 4K Ultra HD and 4K UHD Steelbook format on 4/2 in honor of the film’s 35th anniversary.

We don’t have further details on these yet, but we except the studio to make an official announcement very soon. You can see the cover artwork at left and also below the break. [Read on here...]

Also today: Lucasfilm has just announced a new live-action Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, which will be directed by Jon Favreau. That’s expected to go into production later this year (release date TBA). You can read more here at Variety. This is good news, I suppose, but at this point I’ll believe it when I see it. (I’m still waiting for the Patty Jenkins Rogue Squadron film that was announced then never released—Disney’s Lucasfilm has an unfortunate history of teasing projects they never deliver.)

But on a related note, Lucasfilm has also confirmed that Ahsoka: Season 2 is now in development. You can read that story at Variety today as well. (Though to be honest, at this point I’m much more interested in Andor: Season Two.)

And finally this afternoon: Tom Cruise has officially signed a new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to produce and develop new blockbuster-grade film content for theatrical release. This is apparently a non-exclusive arrangement, something that will work in addition to his existing arrangements with Paramount and Universal. Again, more here at Variety.

Okay, that’s all for today. (I think!)

Stay tuned…
