Star Wars Rebels: Season Four announced, plus new Fox MOD TV DVDs, Warner Archive, Twilight & more

Let’s start with the big news today... Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Studios have just officially set Star Wars Rebels: The Complete Fourth Season for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/31. The Disney XD series, which just won a Saturn Award last night for this its final season, wraps up with all 15 episodes in 1080p HD and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio.

Extras on the Blu-ray set will include six audio commentaries with executive producer Dave Filoni, 3 featurettes (Ghosts of Legend, Force of Rebellion, and Kevin Kiner: The Rebel Symphony), plus 8 Rebels Recon segments. You can see the cover artwork at left and also below.

Now then... let’s have more release news, shall we? And we’ll be back with more new disc reviews tomorrow, including a look at recent Blu-ray 3D titles from the 3D Film Archive.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has just announced DC Super Hero Girls: Legends of Atlantis for release on DVD and Digital on 10/2. They’ll also release Scooby-Doo! and the Gourmet Ghost on DVD on 9/11.

The Warner Archive has announced that it will release Village of the Damned (1960), The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean (1972), and Billy Budd (1962) on Blu-ray Disc in July.

On the TV end of things, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just announced a whole big slate of MOD DVD titles that are now available (as of 6/26), including Last Man on Earth: Seasons 2 & 3, Life in Pieces: Seasons 1 & 2, Fresh Off the Boat: Seasons 2 & 3, Speechless: Seasons 1 & 2, Queen of the South: Season 2, New Girl: Season 6, and Last Man Standing: Seasons 5 & 6. Coming tomorrow from Fox on MOD DVD are The Mick: Seasons 1 & 2. And coming in July and August on MOD DVD are New Girl: Season 7 (due 7/3), The Exorcist: Seasons 1 & 2 (7/10), Rosewood: Seasons 1 & 2 (7/10), Wayward Pines: Season 2 (7/17), Second Chance: Season 1 (7/17), Cooper Barret’s Guide to Surviving Life (7/17), Pitch: Season 1 (7/17), Son of Zorn: Season 1 (7/17), and Star: Seasons 1 & 2 (8/28).

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set Bad Samaritan for release on Digital on 8/3, with Blu-ray and DVD set to follow on 8/14.

Twilight Time has announced their July slate of limited edition Blu-ray titles, which is set to include The Children of Huang Shi (2008), Cinderella Liberty (1973), Genghis Khan (1965), and The Revolt of Mamie Stover (1956). Pre-orders open on Thursday, 7/5 at 1 PM Pacific via all the usual outlets. Street date is 7/17. Not done with Twilight yet... they’ve revealed their September Blu-ray slate too, which is set to include The Last Hurrah (1958), In My Country (2004), The Other Side of Midnight (1977), and The Bravados (1958). Those are due to street on 9/18.

Lionsgate has set Power Rangers Ninja Steel: The Complete Season for release on DVD and Digital on 8/14. They also have Kings set for DVD only release on 7/31, and Six: Season 2 on DVD on 8/7.

Lionsgate and MGM will also release Overboard on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/31, with the Digital release expected on 7/17.

Kino Lorber has announced the 7/10 DVD release of Rüdiger Suchsland’s documentary Hitler’s Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Olive Films has revealed that Paul Ragsdale’s Streets of Vengeance (2017) will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/24.

Flicker Alley has announced a new MOD Blu-ray and Digital release of Lewis Milestone’s The Garden of Eden (1928) on 7/24. Extras will include the Hollywood the Unusual (1927) travelogue and a pair of image slideshows.

Film Movement has set the French dramas You Will Be Mine and The Three-Way Wedding for release on DVD on 7/24.

Mill Creek Entertainment has adjusted the street date for their Masters of Sex: The Complete Series and Happy Endings: The Complete Series Blu-ray and DVD box sets to 8/7. Adjust your plans accordingly.

Cartoon Network has set Ben 10: Omni-Tricked for release on DVD on 9/18.

Random Media will release Across the River on Digital, DVD, and VOD on 7/17.

PBS Distribution has set American Masters – Ted Williams: The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived for DVD and Digital release on 7/24.

Icarus Films has announced that The Chinese Lives of Uli Sigg will be available on DVD and Digital on 7/17.

And 4Digital Media Ltd has set the Russian action-adventure film The Last Warrior for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 8/14. The film is directed by Rustom Mosafir.

Finally today, this year’s Saturn Awards winners were announced last night up in Los Angeles and I’m pleased to report that the award for Best DVD/BD TV Series Release of 2018 went to Lionsgate’s American Gods: Season One (which we’ve reviewed here at The Bits) and for which our old friend Cliff Stephenson produced all the special features (and accepted the award)! Congrats, Cliff! We’re proud as hell of you, sir. Well done.
