Arrow announces the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy (1990-93) for Blu-ray & 4K Ultra HD in December!

We’ve got some great new disc reviews for you to enjoy today, including…

Stephen’s look at George Stevens’ classic western Shane (1953) in 4K Ultra HD from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

Tim’s thoughts on Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme (2025) in 4K Ultra HD from Universal and Shane Black’s The Nice Guys (2016) in 4K from Second Sight Films in the UK.

Stuart’s take on a trio of TV movies on Blu-ray from KLSC, including Ants! (1977), Tarantulas: The Deadly Cargo (1977), and Terror Out of the Sky (1978), as well as Eiichi Kudô’s Yokohama BJ Blues (1981) on Blu-ray from Radiance Films.

And Dennis’ review of Harold Becker’s The Onion Field (1979) on Blu-ray from Via Vision Entertainment.

Now then… the big catalog release news today is that our friends at Arrow Video have just revealed that they’re releasing New Line’s live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy for 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release in the US, UK, and Canada in December (the US date is 12/16, the UK date is 12/15 or 15 December). There will be regular and Arrow Video Store exclusive packaging. [Read on here...]

Either way, the set will include Steve Barron’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), Michael Pressman’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Secret of the Ooze (1991), and Stuart Gillard’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993). You can see the wide-release cover art above left and both versions of the packaging below.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy (4K Ultra HD)

Each will feature new 4K scans and restorations of the original camera negative (for the first film) and the interpositives (for the sequels) with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio and lossless stereo (for the first film) and remixed DTS-HD MA 5.1 and lossless stereo (for the sequels). Extras are TBA on 9/26, but they will include new director’s commentaries and new cast and crew interviews for all three films, and more.

Speaking of Arrow, they’re having a 50% off sale at Barnes & Noble right now until 9/14.

Also today, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has set Simon McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat (2021) for 4K Steelbook release on 9/9.

Shout! Factory will re-issue Jim Henson and Frank Oz’s The Dark Crystal (1982) and Jim Henson’s Labyrinth (1986) in 4K Steelbook on 10/7. Each will include Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.

The Cohen Media Group will release Sally El Hosaini and James and Krishna Floyd’s Unicorns (2023) on Blu-ray on 9/23.

And Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set Sam Wood’s For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943) for Blu-ray release on 10/28.
