What do you know? We have one MORE update for you today, and it’s a big one!

Disney and Marvel have just announced the Amazon-exclusive Blu-ray release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection. The street date is TBA, but you can expect it in time for the holidays. The 13-disc set will include Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Ant-Man, each in Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, and digital copy versions. The set will also contain a Top-Secret Bonus Disc and more (details TBA) including “collectible, specially designed disc holders and exclusive Marvel memorabilia.”  [Read on here…]

First things first today: Our own Michael Coate has turned in a new History, Legacy & Showmanship column in which he looks back at the original roadshow release of Sweet Charity, which celebrates its 45th anniversary today. The piece includes a great and lengthy roundtable interview with a trio of leading experts on the film’s history, so don’t miss it. Enjoy!

In other news today, Disney has revealed that Thor: The Dark World (which streets on 2/25) is not going to be available in BD/DVD Combo versions as originally announced, but rather a Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray Combo, and single-disc Blu-ray and DVD editions, all with digital copy. This appears to be part of a broader shift by the studio away from BD/DVD Combos. Members of the Disney Movie Club who had pre-ordered the announced BD3D/BD/DVD Combo have had their orders shifted to the BD3D/BD version. Let’s close out the week with a couple more great title announcements...

Disney has also officially confirmed that Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World will arrive on Blu-ray 3D Combo, Blu-ray Combo and DVD on 2/25, with digital versions available on 2/4.  The Blu-ray will include audio commentary with director Alan Taylor, producer Kevin Feige, actor Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and cinematographer Kramer Morgenthau, deleted and extended scenes, a gag reel, 2 featurettes (A Brothers’ Journey: Thor & Loki and Scoring Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World with Brian Tyler) and an exclusive look at Marvel’s forthcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  One imagines there will be various retail exclusive versions as well.  [Read on here…]

Morning, folks!  Hope you guys are all enjoying your holiday break.  We’ve actually got some Blu-ray announcement news for you today...

First up, Twilight Time has announced the limited Blu-ray release of Zulu (1964), Khartoum (1966), Titus (1999) and Man in the Dark 3D (1953) – 3,000 copies each will be available.  They’ve also revealed that less than 600 copies each remain of Enemy Mine (1985) and Stagecoach (1966).  SRP for these BDs is $29.95 each.  Head to Screen Archives Entertainment to get your copies.  [Read on here…]
