Well… we had a server issue here at The Bits yesterday afternoon that took down the site for most of the day. No worries though: Mr. Scott and the boys down in Engineering got the bugs worked out quickly and all is now well. But it means today’s post is going to be brief. [Read on here…]
We’ll start today’s post with a couple new things here at The Bits.
Our very own Dr. Adam Jahnke has turned in this week’s Burnt Offerings: MOD DVD column, running down the latest in small batch DVD and Blu-ray titles from Warner Archive, Sony Pictures Classics, and 20th Century Fox Cinema Archives. Among them, you’ll find Fox’s recently cancelled Almost Human: The Complete TV Series on DVD – 13 episodes on 3 discs with some extras too. It’s a shame that show got nixed just as it was finally starting to get good.
First of all, let me apologize for missing virtually the entire month of July. Too much to do, not enough time to do it, you know how it goes. The good news is that Burnt Offerings is back just in time to check out a bumper crop of new MOD releases, including a couple of long-desired cult TV offerings. Without further ado, let’s dive right in. If you must have further ado, why not click through the banners and buy a few discs, which naturally helps support The Bits. Thanks muchly! [Read on here...]
Things have been quiet on the MOD front these last couple of weeks, so this week’s Burnt Offerings is taking a look at this week’s new releases as well as the titles that came back into print last week from Warner Archive. As ever, these stylish and clickable banners will whisk you away to the shopping portal of your choice where your buying power helps fuel our work here at The Bits. Our appreciation runs deep. The good Dr. Jahnke has also delivered this week’s Burnt Offerings: MOD DVD, running down the latest in small batch catalog DVDs from the Warner Archive. Be sure to check that out too. [Read on here…]

And don’t forget, these spiffy banners are your gateways to commerce. Pick out a few discs and help support The Bits. Thanks in advance. [Read on here...]
Okay... just a quick update today. I dropped my cell phone this weekend and cracked the screen. Naturally, I didn’t buy the insurance since Verizon talked me into buying the fancy indestructible case. So anyway, it’s meant a couple days scrambling while I try to get it fixed.
Meanwhile, we do have a new Doogan’s Queue for you today from Todd, covering today’s new releases on Blu-ray and DVD. We’ve also got Dr. Jahnke’s latest Burnt Offerings: MOD DVD column detailing the latest from Warner Archive and such. And be sure to check out our weekly update of the Release Dates & Artwork section from Russell. [Read on here...]
John Garfield gets the spotlight this week and another MGM musical spectacular from the 1950s makes its Blu-ray debut. Let’s take a gander at this week’s MOD deliveries, available with the click of a mouse via the banners yonder.
Thank you, as always, for helping to support The Bits. [Read on here...]

Afternoon, folks! Hope you all enjoyed your long holiday weekend here in the States. Or, for the rest of you, that you had a decent Monday as such things go. Release news is a little slow today, given the long weekend, but we do have a couple things for you today.
First, as we suggested would happen back in March, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just set the excellent Jodorowsky’s Dune documentary for Blu-ray Combo release on 7/8. The only extra to expect will be deleted scenes. Regardless, this one is totally worth your time if you’re a fan of 70-80 cinema, science fiction, and or the work of director Alejandro Jodorowsky. Trust us, it’s a little gem. [Read on here…]
