Blu-ray News – The Martian, The Walk, Hotel Transylvania 2, new Kino & Amazon Black Friday Week deals on BDs and 4k/HDTVs!

All right, we’ve got some pretty darned good announcement news for you all today...

First up, Ridley Scott’s The Martian is now available for pre-order on Amazon on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, and DVD (Amazon price: $44.99, $22.99, and $14.99), set to be released by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just officially set Robert Zemeckis’ The Walk for release on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, and DVD on 1/5 (Amazon price: $27.99, $24.99, and $19.99). Here’s a look at that cover artwork...

Sony has also set the CG-animated Hotel Transylvania 2 for Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, and DVD release on 1/12. Extras will include a pair of audio commentary tracks, deleted scenes, featurettes, a Sing Along, a music video, and more.

Twilight Time has confirmed that their forthcoming Blu-ray release of 1984 (due 12/8) will include both the original Eurythmics and the Dominic Muldowney scores to the film.

Kino Lorber will release Richard Fleischer’s The Vikings (1958) on Blu-ray in March (street date TBA). They’ve also set Fritz Lang’s Woman in the Moon (1929) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 2/23. They’re also working on new BD and DVD releases of Whoever Slew Auntie Roo? (1972 – coming soon), 4D Man (1959 – coming soon), Shield for Murder (1954 – coming soon), Hidden Fear (1957 – coming soon), A Kiss Before Dying (1956 – BD only – coming soon), Highway to Hell (1991 – 2/2), I’m Gonna Git You Sucka (1988 – 2/2), The Challenge (1982 – 2/16), Ambush Bay (1966 – 2/16), Beachhead (1954 – 2/16), Up the Creek (1984 – 2/2), Delirious (1991 – 2/2), and Gorp (1980 – 2/2).

Scream Factory has set Zombie Fight Club and Hellions for BD and DVD release on 2/2. Scream has also confirmed that The Vincent Price Collection III (due on BD on 2/16) will officially include Master of the World (1961), Tower of London (1962), Diary of a Madman (1963), Cry of the Banshee (1970), and An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe (1970).

The Warner Archive has also just revealed a bunch of cool deep catalog titles including a batch of Golden Harvest Collection HK martial arts action films – Blade of Fury (1993), Big Bullet (1996), Downtown Torpedoes (1997), and Pedicab Driver (1989). They’re also working on the old western series Lawman (1958-62).

Warner Home Video, meanwhile, has set Falling Skies: The Complete Fifth Season for Blu-ray and DVD release on 2/2. You’ll also get Falling Skies: The Complete Series on both formats that same day.

HBO will release its Show Me a Hero miniseries on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/2, starring Oscar Isaac.

And Koch Entertainment has set From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series – Season 2 for Blu-ray release on 2/2.
