I’m still working on that Batman: The Complete Animated Series Blu-ray review, but let me tell you... it’s terrific! The A/V quality is amazing, with the original film elements for each episode newly scanned and presented in HD and the stereo mixes presented in lossless DTS-HD Master Audio. [Editor’s Note: The review is finished and you can read it here now. Enjoy!]

Nearly all of the extras from the previous DVD box set carry over and there’s a great new 98-minute retrospective documentary, Heart of Batman, included as well. I hope to have the review up later today - there’s just a lot to go through. I’ll add the link here when it goes live.

Meanwhile here at the site today, we have a new History, Legacy and Showmanship column from our very own Michael Coate, who presents a retrospective look back at George A. Romero’s original zombie classic Night of the Living Dead in honor of the film’s 50th anniversary this month. [Read on here...]

The piece features a great interview with film historian and author John Scoleri. Don’t miss it.

Also here at the site today, Tim has checked in with a trio of new Blu-ray reviews...

Included in today’s offerings are his thoughts on Ted Post’s The Baby via new Arrow special edition, Don Coscarelli’s Phantasm IV: Oblivion from Well Go USA, and finally Tom Savini’s 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, newly released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Enjoy!

All right, I’m diving back in to get this Batman: TAS review done.

We expect to have Superman: The Movie in 4K UHD any time, so know that we’ll get that review posted ASAP too as soon as it arrives.

Meanwhile... Happy Halloween from all of us at The Digital Bits!

Many @thedigitalbits readers have asked why it was so hard to find copies of some new #4K #UltraHD & #Bluray titles over the holiday season. The reason is there's a dearth of disc replication capacity in North America. Only one plant remains of the many open at the height of DVD.
Today on The Bits – We remember Nick Redman, filmmaker, music producer, and co-founder of Twilight Time thedigitalbits.com/columns/my-two…
