Jack Ryan 4K reviews, plus Warner Archive’s September BDs, new Kino & Criterion’s November slate pre-orders

We’ve got a couple things for you today. First up, more reviews...

I’ve checked in with a look at three of the five titles in Paramount’s new Jack Ryan 5-Film Collection in 4K Ultra HD, including The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger.

Meanwhile, Tim has offered his thoughts on Scream Factory’s Return of the Living Dead, Part II: Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray.

Dennis Seuling has taken a look at Herschell Gordon Lewis’s The Gore Gore Girls, also on Blu-ray from Arrow Video.

And David Steigman has turned in his thoughts on Shout! Factory’s new Sid Caesar: The Works DVD box set.

In announcement news today, the Warner Archive has revealed that its September Blu-ray titles will include Irwin Allen’s The Swarm (1978) Bert I. Gordon’s The Cyclops (1958), Queen of Outer Space (1958), Michael Crichton’s Looker (1981), and John Milius’ Big Wednesday (1978). Also coming to Blu-ray in September from the Archive are the TV titles Lethal Weapon: The Complete Second Season and Young Sheldon: The Complete First Season, and they have Longmire: The Complete Sixth Season in the works (street date TBA). And they’ve announced that Franklin J. Schaffner’s Papillon (1973) is back in print on Blu-ray.

Kino Lorber has announced that the Mamie Van Doren Film Noir Collection (1957-1959) is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on 11/20, featuring The Girl in Black Stockings, Guns, Girls and Gangsters, and Vice Raid. Also coming soon to both formats are Foxfire (1955) and Female on the Beach (1955). On the way too: The Glass House (1972) on 11/6 for Scorpion Releasing and The Fifth Floor (1978) on 11/13 for Code Red.

Scream Factory’s Critters Collection is now available for Blu-ray pre-order on Amazon.com (click here for that). Street date is 11/27.

Shout! Factory has announced that its next Shout Select release will be The Glenn Miller Story on Blu-ray on 11/20.
