Blu-ray News – A few title announcements & reviews, plus Apple Music & Ridley Scott's Martian trailer

We’re kicking off the new week with a pair of new Blu-ray reviews. Tim has checked out Scream’s Class of 1984: Collector’s Edition and Jeff has taken a closer look at Universal’s new Battlestar Galactica: Definitive Collection set. Both are worth your attention, so enjoy the reviews.  [Read on here…]

I’ve actually got family staying here until Wednesday morning, so today’s update is going to be quick.

But Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set the documentary Salt of the Earth for Blu-ray Combo and digital release on 7/14. The disc will include deleted scenes and audio commentary with director Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado.

PBS is releasing The Crimson Field on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/14.

Image is re-issuing The Town that Dreaded Sundown on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/8.

And Acorn has set Harry for Blu-ray and DVD release on 8/25.

In other news, it appears that Apple has just announced its new Apple Music streaming service. You can read more about that here at Wired.

And finally, 20th Century Fox has just released the first trailer for Ridley Scott’s The Martian, which hits theaters in November. It looks pretty fantastic so far. You can watch it here and be sure to do so in HD…
