In other news, are any of you Star Trek fans? Walking in Hollywood / geek circles as we do here at The Bits, we have a lot of friends who work (or have worked) on some of your favorite genre TV shows and movies, Star Trek included. Now, a group of them has banded together to create a new Trek fan project called Star Trek: Axanar. They’ve just launched a Kickstarter to raise money for a "proof of concept" piece called Prelude to Axanar... and they’ve created a trailer as part of the effort. If you’re a Trek fan, you should definitely check it out. There’s some cool people involved and they’ve already created some amazing visual effects footage. Enjoy!
Finally today, we need to take a moment to acknowledge the passing of legendary French New Wave / Left Bank filmmaker Alain Resnais, who gave us a number of true classics of cinema, including Night and Fog, La Guerre est Finie, Hiroshima Mon Amour and Last Year at Marienbad. He was 91. More here at The New YorK Times.
We’ll leave you today with a look at the cover art for MPI’s Here’s Lucy: The Complete Series and Sony’s The Invisible Woman. We also include temp art for Warner’s The LEGO Movie, which is now available for pre-order (street date TBA)...
