This week at The Bits, we’re all still reeling from the magnificence that is Mad Max: Fury Road. I caught it Saturday at a matinee and was blown away by it. It’s one of the most well-crafted and entertaining action movies to come along in a long time. It was also made by a 70-year old director (George Miller) who has managed to show up his younger counterparts by putting them in their place with a finely-tuned piece of action filmmaking.
So it should come as no surprise that we’ve all been revisiting the three original Mad Max films. I recently did a review of Mad Max on Blu-ray (which I’ll include a link for, just for posterity), but I also recently took a look at three more titles, including both of the Mad Max sequels and a terrific documentary on the Ozploitation explosion that began in the late 1960’s and lasted throughout the 1980’s...
- Mad Max: Collector’s Edition
- The Road Warrior
- Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
- Not Quite Hollywood
- Mad Max: Fury Road (Pre-Order)
As you can see, I’ve also provided a pre-order link from Amazon for Mad Max: Fury Road on Blu-ray.
So there you have it, a quartet of four great titles to check out, including three that we hadn’t covered previously. While you’re at it, why don’t you purchase them through the Amazon links provided? As Bill always says, a portion of anything that you order from Amazon after clicking through to them from our links goes to help support our work here at The Bits, and we really appreciate that. So enjoy the reviews, and please do go out and support Fury Road. It’s a masterpiece folks.
I’ll be back next week with more titles, but until then, that’s all from me for now.
